True Crime Uncut: Could You Catch Out A Killer?

How do real murderers give themselves away - and would you spot the signs? This live panel experience invites the audience inside the investigative process, revealing how UK police, psychologists and investigators uncover lies, expose deception and dismantle carefully constructed cover stories. The session brings together leading experts with first-hand experience of serious criminal cases. Together, they break down the techniques used to catch killers out - from behavioural cues and interview strategy to digital forensics, cell site analysis and the tiny verbal slips that change everything. The Birmingham panel will explore a recent West Midlands case - the murder of Kerry Woolley in Solihull - where the killer placed himself at the centre of the investigation as the innocent boyfriend who "found" her, only for his story to unravel under the weight of digital evidence and forensic reconstruction.

Throughout the session, you - the audience - become part of the investigations. You will watch real case material - including a clip from the Mick Philpott press conference - and be challenged to spot the warning signs yourself before the experts reveal what detectives saw. You will step into the shoes of investigators as we examine multiple cases and the behaviour and evidence that exposed fatal lies. By the end of the session, you will not only understand how killers are caught out - you will have tested whether you could do it too. Provocative, immersive and unsettling - this is true crime as a live investigation.

GUEST SPEAKERS: Hayley Rhodes (Chair) - Kerry Daynes, Darren Stanton

Who Killed Brian & Susan?

In the summer of 1986, Brian Price and Susan Tetrault were found murdered in Susan’s bed in 22 St Alphonsus Road in south London. They have been beaten to death whilst sleeping with an axe. Brian and Susan had been involved in the drugs trade, but some evidence that suggests this attack could have been personal.

In this session, we are joined by Brain’s son Ray, who has become his own investigator in his father’s murder case. The session is hosted by Naomi Channell, host of the REAL podcast, who Ray entrusted with this story and together they created a three-part series called ‘Who Killed Brian and Susan?’ That examines the evidence and lays out the facts. Off the back of the release of this series in 2025, several new pieces of information have been uncovered, including a crucial witness. Alan Jackaman completes the line-up for this session. Alan is a former CID detective with 25 years' service under his belt and has now written a book on this case.

Britain’s Most Evil Killers: The Midlands' Most Evil Killers

This gripping session digs into some of the most notorious killers from the Midlands:

  • Colin Pitchfork (S8) killed two teenage girls in Narborough, Leicestershire in the late 1980's. He was the first person to ever be caught through DNA.
  • Phillip Austin (S5) killed his wife, two young children and the family dogs at their home in Northampton in 2000 before going on the run from the police.
  • Tracie Andrews (S2) murdered her fiancé Lee Harvey in Alvechurch, Worcestershire in 1996. She claimed they had been involved in a road rage incident in which Lee had been attacked and killed by a man.

These were killers who lived among us, hiding in plain sight while whole communities were left reeling in their wake. The panel will discuss the cases, how these killers were eventually brought to justice and the impact on the communities in which they lived. It's an unflinching look at the brutal reality of the most serious crime in the Midlands.

GUEST SPEAKER: Hayley Rhodes (Chair) - Dr. Mohammed Rahman, Jane Monckton Smith, Anton Sullivan

Today, she stands as a powerful voice for those who have been forced into silence. In this inspiring session, Madeleine shares her journey from trauma to healing, revealing how resilience, courage and self compassion can transform even the darkest experiences.
