Dr. Mohammed Rahman

Dr Mohammed Rahman is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology at Birmingham City University.


His work as a criminologist has engaged global audiences through publications, including books, book chapters, peer-reviewed articles, and conference papers, focusing on serious violence, organised crime, and social inequalities. He has extensively researched violent offenders, their victims, and those who work within the criminal justice system.


Beyond academia, he currently serves as an Expert Member of the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime, the world's largest NGO with a mandate to curb organised crime worldwide. He also serves as an Advisory Panel Member for the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner.


Mohammed regularly provides commentary through national and international media outlets, including Amazon Prime Video, BBC, CBS Reality, Channel 5, ITV, Times Magazine, and The Times.
