Natalie Queiroz MBE

Victims Advocate (Victims Commissioner) West Midlands PCC - Attempted Murder Survivor & Author

Natalie Queiroz MBE - Victims Advocate (Victims Commissioner) for West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner, a role which sees her hold West Midlands Police and other criminal justice agencies to account with respect to upholding Victims’ Rights. Actively challenging the criminal justice system to improve not only access to justice for all but also improve the victim’s journey through its vast complexity. Acting as the voice of the victim on local and national platforms, Natalie represents the West Midlands at Government-led meetings.

Lobbying Government Ministers is not just reserved for her professional role though, as Natalie is a passionate victims’ campaigner in her own time, currently leading her own campaign challenging the prison system.

The inspiration for all her work stems from her survival in 2016 of one of the most horrific attempted domestic homicides ever seen in the UK. Stabbed 24 times in broad daylight with a 12-inch kitchen carving knife whilst 8 months pregnant, neither Natalie nor her baby were expected to survive. Against all odds they both did, but both left with life-changing injuries. As if this wasn’t enough to cope with, Natalie’s world truly came crashing down when the disguised perpetrator was revealed to be her partner, a man she had known 25 years.

As Natalie rebuilt her life she wrote her memoir, Still Standing, which is now published across the world; and she has spoken on many stages as a professional speaker. Her speaking though is not confined to the professional stage as Natalie has spent the last 7 years speaking in schools and prisons, including many young offender institutions, as she has dedicated time to working with vulnerable youth and preventing youth violence, earning her an MBE for Services to Young People and the Prevention of Knife Crime in 2022.

Natalie’s value for fairness, protection of the vulnerable and justice for all runs through everything she does.
