Join Colin Sutton as he takes you through the role of a Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) and the often-overlooked leadership aspect of murder investigations. From managing large teams of detectives to balancing operational priorities with the emotional weight of the case, Sutton shares his experiences in leading a homicide team, keeping morale high, and ensuring a coordinated, strategic approach. He’ll also discuss the importance of clear communication, both internally with the team and externally with the public and the media, and the tough decisions that come with the responsibility of leading an investigation.

Join us for this powerful session led by Duncan Craig OBE founder and Chief Executive of We Are Survivors, the largest male victim/survivors of sexual harms in the UK. This conversation will explore the often-ignored experiences of male survivors, the barriers men face in seeking justice, and the critical role specialist services have in an individual’s healing journey. This session will feature personal stories from the survivors themselves, expert insight, and a focus on breaking stigma, this session will challenge misconceptions and highlight the vital work being done to ensure no male survivor is left behind, and how we create change.
