Sally Midgley

Former Senior Crown Prosecutor.

Sally joined the police cadets in 1981, just before her 17th birthday and the Regular Force in 1982. Her first posting was in a busy industrial town in the East Midlands. She worked on foot and mobile patrols and took every opportunity to work on serious crime enquiries and incident rooms which led to her being appointed as a detective and working in a city centre police station. Due to injury, she left the Police after serving 12 years. Sally then studied for a law degree and completed the Bar Vocational Course, being called to the Bar in July 1999 at Lincoln’s Inn, London. After qualification she advised detained persons at police stations. After which Sally worked in private practice for firms dealing mainly in civil law matters, personal injury, family and child care. Her true interest however, was crime and Sally secured employment within the Crown Prosecution Service where she served until 2014 as a Senior Crown Prosecutor.
