Professor Vivien Lees

Professor Vivien Lees is Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Manchester Foundation Hospitals Trust. She is Vice President at Royal College of Surgeons of England. Vivien has keen interest in safety in surgical practice and works to increase surgical capacity and access for patients to safe surgical services. She is specifically interested in the surgical response to humanitarian incidents.

Following the Manchester Arena bombing, Professor Lees was actively involved in the surgical care of victims, providing critical treatment in the immediate aftermath of the attack. Vivien is a former President of British Society for Surgery of the Hand (2015), former Chair of the SAC for Plastic Surgery, former Examiner for FRCS(Plast), and Editor European Journal of Hand Surgery and led the Hand Diploma and MSc in Hand Surgery for BSSH/University of Manchester.
