Lorraine Jones
Lorraine Jones is a retired nurse with over 25 years of experience across Greater Manchester hospitals, specialising in Theatres, Intensive Care, Community Nursing, and ventilatory care. Renowned for her compassionate, patient-focused approach, Lorraine’s career has been guided by her philosophy: “Serving others through care and with compassion matters most.”
Throughout her career, Lorraine played key roles in both everyday and extraordinary situations. Notably, she was involved in the emergency medical response to the Manchester Arena bombing, providing critical care and emotional support during one of the region’s most devastating events. She also led initiatives such as the creation of an ICU Follow-Up Clinic for post-ICU trauma patients and introduced Patient Diaries to support long-term psychological recovery.
Her dedication has been recognised with multiple awards and honours, including a Nursing Times Award, a Daily Mail NHS Health Heroes nomination, and Highly Commended MFT Nurse of the Year. Lorraine holds a first-class nursing degree and several advanced qualifications, including the Professional Nurse Advocate Programme (Level 7, Distinction).
Now retired, Lorraine is a full-time carer for her mother with Alzheimer’s and enjoys time with her grandchildren. She remains a passionate advocate for resilience, recovery, and compassionate care.
