Jodie Edith

Jodie Edith is a trauma-informed counsellor, hypnotherapist, speaker, and Clinical Lead for a specialist domestic abuse counselling service. With extensive experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, trauma, and coercive control, she combines clinical expertise with lived experience to advocate for meaningful, preventative change.

Following the murder of her step-sister, Laura Mortimer, and 11-year-old niece, Ella Dalby, in 2018, Jodie dedicated her work to helping prevent violence against women and girls before lives are lost. Through a shared commitment to creating change, Jodie and Lisa Squire now work together to raise awareness of the early warning signs of abuse, stalking, coercive control, and non-contact sexual offending. Together, they deliver prevention-focused education, speak publicly about the lessons that must be learned, and work alongside professionals, organisations, and policymakers to improve understanding, strengthen responses, and help prevent future harm.

Jodie is passionate about ensuring that missed opportunities become opportunities for learning. Her work centres on empowering professionals and the public to recognise risk earlier, respond with confidence, and strengthen systems that protect victims before abuse escalates. She believes prevention, education, and collaboration are key to saving lives and creating lasting cultural change.
