Jamie East

Jamie East is Head of Podcasts at the Daily Mail, where he oversees one of the biggest podcast slates in the UK. Since he took charge of the audio operation in 2023, Daily Mail shows have grown to pass well over 30 million downloads across true crime, news, history, royals and more.

Among that slate is The Trial, the returnable franchise that covers the country’s biggest cases, and helped shape a whole new sub-genre of true crime. Jamie went on to pioneer The Crime Desk, the subscription brand that brings the Mail's true crime journalism together across podcast, video and the written word.



A broadcaster and podcast veteran of some 25 years, Jamie has worked in front of the camera and behind the mic, from Big Brother's Bit on the Side and Sky's Thronecast to launching the chart-topping daily news podcast The Smart 7.
