David Howard

David Howard is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and Creative Director of Monster Films. He began his career at BBC Wales, directing acclaimed documentaries on singer Dorothy Squires, actress Rachel Roberts and writer Jean Rhys. A two-time BAFTA Cymru nominee for Best Director, David won both the Royal Television Society Award for Journalism and the Broadcast Award for Best Documentary for the groundbreaking ‘Interview With A Murderer’.

n 2023, he spent a year following serial killer Charles Sobhraj for the three-part series ‘The Real Serpent: Investigating a Serial Killer’, providing a unique insight into one of the world's most notorious criminals.

David is the creator of the TRUE CRIME Channel series ‘Murder by the Sea’, which explores real-life murder cases from coastlines across the UK. His other credits include ‘Voice of a Serial Killer’, ‘The Real Prime Suspect’, ‘The Murder That Changed Britain’, ‘Britain’s Almost Perfect Murders’ and ‘Wrongly Accused’, all of which examine major criminal cases, investigations, and miscarriages of justice.

His new series, ‘UK Forensic Breakthroughs’, premiering later this year, examines how pioneering forensic science continues to shape major criminal investigations across the UK.
