In this opening session, you will meet the Event Director, Nancy Baughen and hear from Sam Rowden, Vice President of Content and Production for AMC Networks International, including true crime channel CBS Reality.

Vanessa Frake chats about her 27+ years working in the prison service, where she encountered some of the most notorious criminals Britain has ever seen, including Moors murderer Myra Hindley and serial killer Rose West. In 2012, she was awarded a MBE for her work with the prison service before retiring early in 2013. Vanessa is a key contributor in ‘Donal MacIntyre's Released to Kill’, the original true crime series from CBS Reality, where her knowledge of offenders and killers is paramount to understanding the minds of killers who reoffend.

NOT GUILTY BY REASON OF INSANITY - A FORENSIC PSYCHIATRIST DISSECTS

Dr Sohom Das (MBChB, BSc, MSc, MRCPsych) is a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist and expert witness in criminal trials, assessing criminals for the insanity plea. His talk is a behind-the-scenes explanation of how he analyses individuals to determine if they meet the legal criteria for this psychiatric defence.

KILLED ABROAD / UNRESOLVED

Millions of Brits go abroad every year and sadly some never return. David Swindle will be looking at the cases of Kirsty Maxwell and Craig Mallon, highlighting the lack of Government support for their families and the need for change to ensure they get justice for their lost loved ones, this session will be joined by the Maxwell family.

CrimeCon Walking Tour

Join your local guide, Louise from Walking Tours in Glasgow, for this special private tour for Crimecon goers! The tour will take place on 10th September 11:30am-1pm and will be available for those going to Crimecon only.

A city well-known for its turbulent past, Glasgow has a lot of secrets. Built by industry, shaped by its working class, and run by gangs operating out of ice-cream vans. This 1.5 hour tour with a local guide will take you on a walk in the darker side of Glasgow’s history - some centuries ago, some decades, and some still happening in the city today.

From unsolved murders to tales of notorious inmates and Glasgow’s foundations as a city built on the back of slavery, this tour will bring our dark past into light as you discover a different side to this iconic city.
