POLICE DOGS

Police dog demos will be happening across the weekend.

MEET THE POLICE DOGS

General Purpose Dogs

This is the best known of all the police dogs deployed around the world and the one most commonly seen on TV. The GP or General Purpose dog is the Multitool of all police dogs, being taught to search for people and evidence then used to subdue criminals when located. In this demo we will show the Teeth of any operation and how the presence of these talented dogs is enough to deter the most dedicated of bad guys or girls. PD Kesy will show her skills in these fields and the controlled manner that she carries out her role.

Drug Detection Dogs

This demonstration will show the types of searches that our Specialist Drugs Dogs carry out in support of the Police teams we work with. The two will show DDD Stanley carrying out Passive scanning of a group of volunteers and then DDD Nell will proactively search an area where a firearm has been concealed. The two searches show the different disciplines that the dogs are taught and use when on operations. The types of dogs shown here today are typical of the breeds used across the world by Police, Military and other Government Agencies.

Explosive Detection Dogs

This demonstration will show EDD Riley carry out a PROACTIVE search of an area and a PASSIVE SCAN of luggage and person which shows the two types of search method used. The EDD Teams are taught a Safe Systematics Search Pattern and are trained on both Relevant and Historical substances which could be Homemade or Commercial. The demonstration will show the search and the indication on the specific position of the explosive device. The searches are always carried out with the support of specialist units, EOD or Firearms that would take over on a successful indication.
