John Lucas is a journalist whose book about Patrick Mackay sparked a campaign to reinvestigate a string of unsolved murders attributed to the serial killer. He began looking into the Mackay case after being contacted by the son of one of the unsolved victims, Ivy Davies. After finding that every murder originally confessed to by Mackay remained unsolved, he decided to gather his research into a book.
