Dave started his professional life in a very different field, attending Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design after leaving school. Fearing an uncertain future, Dave undertook a Sport and Fitness degree, soon after joining Essex Police. 

After nearly 7 years with Essex Police, Dave transferred to the Territorial Support Group within the MPS, and subsequently left there on promotion where he joined Waltham Forest Borough. After 23 years working on the force, he describes working in community focused roles such as Safer Neighbourhoods, Safer Transport and currently Safer Schools as being ‘the most rewarding posts he has held’.   

SInce then, Dave moved away from front line policing and is delighted to have recently started a new role within Learning and Development as a Community Engagement Sergeant, continuing to contributing to the bigger MPS picture.
